Expelled Awami League member and former minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui, Dhaka University law professor Hafizur Rahman Curzon and journalist Manjurul Alam Panna were brought in a prison van in front of the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court at around 9:30 am on Friday. The van headed towards the jail.

Behind Latif Siddiqui was Hafizur Rahman, a professor of the Law Department of Dhaka University. He had a bulletproof jacket on his chest and a police helmet on his head. Latif Siddiqui says he has no confidence in the court
A lawyer approached Abdul Latif Siddiqui, who was standing in the dock. He wanted to sign the power of attorney. Abdul Latif Siddiqui told the lawyer that he had no confidence in the court. Therefore, he would not appoint a lawyer. Then the lawyer asked Abdul Latif Siddiqui if he himself wanted to say anything in court. CMM Court Magistrate Sarah Farzana Haque arrived at the courtroom at 10:35 am. At that time, the investigation officer of the case and Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Toufiq Hasan Latif Siddiqui, who was in the witness box, requested to keep 16 people including him in jail. Toufiq Hasan said, "Honorable Court, yesterday at 11 am, while on duty, I came to know that some people were surrounded at Dhaka Reporters Unity and were shouting slogans calling Awami fascist. Then I saw a person standing and giving a speech. He is Abdul Latif Siddiqui. After questioning Abdul Latif Siddiqui, I came to know that an organization called Mancha 71 has emerged to stop the deep conspiracy to erase the history of the Liberation War and the distortion of the history of the Liberation War."
